With the increasing popularity of yoga as a means of physical fitness, mental well-being, and spiritual growth, various styles and practices have emerged to suit different needs. Ashtanga yoga is one such approach that has gained significant attention for its unique characteristics and potential benefits. This study aims to explore the efficacy of Ashtanga yoga as a holistic practice, focusing on its impact on physical fitness, mental health, and stress reduction.

To conduct this study, a mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining qualitative interviews with experienced Ashtanga yoga practitioners and quantitative measurements of physical and psychological parameters. The sample included both males and females aged between 25 and 45 years, who had a minimum of one-year experience practicing Ashtanga yoga regularly.

Physical Fitness Benefits:
The physical fitness benefits of Ashtanga yoga were examined through a series of measurements, including flexibility, muscular strength, endurance, body composition, and cardiorespiratory fitness. The results revealed a significant improvement in participants’ flexibility, as measured through joint range of motion tests. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects and potential applications of Ashtanga yoga in different populations and settings.
